Formatting Guidelines
All submissions to Catalyst should follow the formatting guidelines outlined below to ensure consistency and ease of review. Adhering to these standards helps maintain the quality and accessibility of the journal. Please review the following requirements carefully before submitting your work.
General Guidelines
Author Information
Include the following details on the manuscript’s cover page (not in the main document):
- Full name(s)
- Title(s)
- Affiliation(s)
- Email address(es)
- Telephone number(s)
Working Title
Should reflect the manuscript’s contribution to the field of service-learning and community engagement. Maximum: 15 Words
Abstract
Provide a concise summary of the manuscript’s purpose, methods, findings, and conclusion. Maximum: 250 Words.
Keywords
Include up to six keywords that reflect the core themes or concepts of the submission. Keywords will be used to aid in categorization in academic databases.
Acknowledgements/Author Bio
Submit as a separate file, clearly labeled with your submitted article and/or material.
- Do not include this information in the manuscript to maintain anonymity during peer review.
- This content will be added post-review.
- Maximum: 250 words
Guidelines by Submission Type
Text Format
Submit manuscripts as Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) files
- Use 12-point Times New Roman font
- Text should be double-spaced in single column format.
Multimedia Format
Accepted formats include MP3 (audio), MP4 (video), and JPEG (images)
- Image resolution: 600dpi or higher.
- Video resolution: 1080p, 23–60 fps.
- All audio and video files must include accurate transcripts for captioning and accessibility.
